Heart of Namaqwaland – Augrabies Waterfalls, Riemvasmaak, Islands and Blouputs Valley
( Late Winter – Spring) (6/7/8 days)
Kalahari Natives pinned the Augrabies falls the “Place of Great Noise”.
And great it is indeed! The impressive Augrabies Falls flows from the Orange River and is awesome when in full flood.
Giant Aloes, acacias and succulents abound in this arid air.
A scope of bird and reptile species, as well as mammalian, occupy this land- including the Steenbok, springbok and zebra.
North of Augrabies Falls lies Riemvasmaak Hot Water Springs.
This is one of the Northern Cape’s most popular tourist attractions, lending its guests the luxury of bathing in naturally hot spring waters, whilst encircled by spectacular scenes of rugged wilderness.
In strong contrast to the Desert Mountains, lies the beautiful Blouputs Valley, flourishing with vegetation.
